How the limits are counted
Section titled “How the limits are counted”- Sizes are UTF-8 bytes, not characters. Emoji and non-Latin text count as 2–4 bytes per character.
- The total includes every snippet, enabled or not. Disabling a snippet doesn’t free space; deleting it does.
- When you edit a snippet, its old code isn’t counted twice. The total is the other snippets plus the new code.
- Duplicating a snippet adds a new one, so it counts toward both the 100-snippet limit and the total size.
When you hit a limit
Section titled “When you hit a limit”The save is rejected, the error appears in the form next to the field, and nothing is saved. Existing snippets and the live site aren’t affected.
Staying well under
Section titled “Staying well under”The limits exist because every snippet is output inline in your HTML. Large inline scripts slow every page. Prefer loading third-party code by URL:
